One of the more challenging realities of the Christian life is that our internal woundedness doesn't shut off when we try to pray or go to church.

Indeed, for some, prayer may actually intensify the distress of trauma and other wounding experiences.

In this webinar, we focus on strategies and approaches for Orthodox trauma survivors who struggle to pray or who find prayer to activate stress responses. Viewers will learn some of the unique ways trauma can complicate our relationship toward prayer in Orthodox contexts, as well as practical strategies for learning to pray out of safety and freedom. The material is intended to help survivors, clergy, and others have more fruitful conversations.

Being able to turn toward Christ in the midst of our recovery journey takes us to the source of healing, and it is my prayer that this talk helps those who struggle take one step closer to Him.

This webinar was originally presented in September 2022 as part of a four-part series dealing with spiritual practices for Orthodox trauma survivors.
